We are learning more and more that Taylen has as much to
teach us as we have to teach her. There is a
foundational principle in Christianity called faith.
Faith has been defined as 'a desperate clinging to God'.
When Taylen is in need...when she is crying...when she wants
to be held in Mom's arms...she will raise her arms up to
express that desire. What a simple, yet powerful
illustration of our relationship with Jesus. She has
taught me to raise up my hands in a desperate clinging to my
Savior!

As most of you know, Jereme and I have
been in the process of trying to adopt a baby for the last
year. This last July we were finally placed on the waiting
list and began what we thought would be a twelve to fourteen
month wait to possibly be picked by a birth mom.
WELL........not the case!! We were picked five weeks later
with a baby due on the 5th of October....yes, five days from
now! We are a little in awe that this is really happening,
but very blessed that our wait was so short. We’ve been
scrambling to get things ready and be on alert for our phone
call that will send us up to Seattle for the birth. We still
can’t believe it’s happening!
Because this has happened so quickly, we have been caught
somewhat unprepared financially to pay the balance of our
adoption costs. All in all, the entire fee totaled around
$18,000.00 for us. We’ve paid this balance down to
$13,500.00. Our balance is now due because of being picked
by a birth mom. We have applied for some grants and loans
and lines of credit, but it’s a little hard getting these to
go through quickly, and because we are self-employed getting
approved for credit is sometimes hard. Our adoption agency
is willing to be flexible( their whole purpose is getting us
a baby!! ) with some payment options, but for very
short-terms, and large payments.
We are sending this e-mail out to ask for HUGE PRAYER
from everyone that the Lord will allow us to pay off our
balance, ON TIME! We are also HUMBLY asking for financial
help from those whom the Lord might lead and have the means
to help. ANY amount is welcome and will help us. PLEASE DO
NOT FEEL OBLIGATED! Only if you truly feel prompted and are
able to do so. Our adoption agency encourages us from the
get-go to go to friends and family to help with costs. This
is really hard to do, but here we are in this WONDERFUL
place and just needing a little help. Most of all, however,
we covet prayer from all of you. Not only prayer for the
costs, but prayer that our birth mom will go through with
the adoption plan and that we have a healthy baby!!!!
