We are here for you. We desire to make for you the best wedding video we possibly can, primarily focusing in on Your Vision, and Your Tastes. We are honored when you choose Catalyst for your wedding video production. Here is what happens. As you may have read, we will begin our coverage close to 4 hours before the beginning of the ceremony. It is helpful for us that you let the other groomsmen, bridesmaids, parents...whoever you can think of, that we're coming with cameras rolling! Please keep in mind that we are careful what we shoot, and we are very respectful in every way. We want you to be as comfortable as you would be any other day, and we will strive to make that happen. On the other hand, we strive to capture and produce YOUR wedding video. As you may have read, we stay till the very end...or when you say we're done. Long receptions can lead to...uh, how do I say it...Uncle Herald consuming a bit too much punch. All these things are to say that it is our policy to show the 'FIRST DRAFT' to the bride and groom FIRST, making sure its content is exactly what you want in your video. All editing privileges lie with the Bride and Groom. We utilize wireless microphones. It really (really really) works well when we mike up the groom. This is primarily how we capture the audio for the ceremony, however, it also works very well to keep that mic active for the reception...all or part of it. Sometimes the conversations that we catch can be included in the final video. So consider having the groom keep that mic on for as long as he is comfortable...allowing us to preserve the day onto your DVD with this aspect in mind. Who's your DJ? We try to record the work that the DJ does at your reception, allowing us to incorporate that audio into your wedding video. It is courteous for us to ask them for permission to do this. So if you think of it, let us know if you have hired a DJ for your reception. On that note, what music do you like? Legally, we are limited to the music provided to us by you, the client, so we will need about 20 songs that you would like incorporated into your video, placed on a CD, and given to us by the wedding day. Will there be any 'untraditional' things happening at your wedding? For example, if there is someone singing at your ceremony...or a special toast will be given during the reception...whatever you can think of...these kinds of pieces of information can sometimes help us capture it better. The more information for us, the better we can serve you. Is your wedding or your reception outside? Do you know when the sun will go down? There have been a few weddings we have covered, where this was not taken into account...for us or their guests. Our cameras are great cameras. They are even known for great capturing in lower light situations. However we do need some light. More importantly, your guests need light to see you. If we run out of light to the point where we can't capture anymore...we'll let you know, and we'll see what we can do for you. |
